i want my car back :(

I feel your pain, I've been Punto-less for a week now and it's driving me mad! I can only get away with the occasional short run in the Capri  another 6 days to go till exams are over and I can turn my attention to more important things :D

Hmm...my Cinq's rattle from the metallic hamster under the bonnet is really getting to me now...I need to prep the head and get it swapped!

cinq, and was there a 1242 16v mk1 punto?

'Deed there was, late Sporting and ELX models ran the 16v unit rather than the old 1.6 8v. And I reckon a STANDARD 1242 Cinq would struggle to keep up with the 16v Punto. 60bhp in about 700kg of car gives less power to weight than 85bhp in about 850kg. The 1242 Cinq would need to run about 70bhp to reach the same power-to-weight as a standard Punto Sporting...

my brother has a 53 plate punto mk2.5 active sport. 1242 16v, 80bhp. It doesnt feel as fast as my 1108cc cinq. Book time is 3 seconds quicker to 60 tho. But then again my cinq aint standard.

the mk1's with 1242 16v lumps are 910kg according to parkers.

il have to get chris (1242 sei) to race my brothers mk2.5 punto next time we're playing down at the airport.
