Hey

newbie question - is windscreen from a o/a & merea all exactly the same?

Seems very likely but would just like to check.

I'm strapped for cash and my screen got a gert big messy chip in it a few weeks ago. Not an MOT failure but may just go boom unannounced. Anywho local scappy has a P Brava with perfect screen and i thought I could ruin a few stanley knifw blades and see if i can get it out in one piece. possible ?
Any advise (other than save up ) welcomed

Good luck getting the screen out.. They are bonded in, and even the pro's have trouble.

Best thing I've found to use is cheese wire.

Screens are the same throughout the range IIRC..

If you're fully comp, claim on your insurance.. will cost you about £50..

Otherwise, RAC Auto Windscreens will do do it for about £130 fitted..

If it's just a chip will the insurance not fix it for free (via Autoglass or similar)?

it's quite a messy chip - right above the p/s wiper - wondered if it was fixable so close to edge of screen.

will give the insurance types a call and see what they say - wouldn't mind having the whole screen replaced...... I wonder if I get the donor screen out, and clean it up, if autoscreeny types would fit it for insurance chip repair price. Worth an ask.
