I've just gotten a nice rust free door for my Panda. Getting it ready for painting, I've forgotten how to remove the window winder handle.
Any help please?:)

Also is it easy to change the lock on the door as i don't have the key to the new door and if i did, wouldn't want two keys.

Its some way away but i do plan on selling my 1000s in the new year. Going to be so sad to see him go :(
However, its good news for you guys as my shed of spares will be up for sale, i've got a cars worth of spares - let me know if you would like anything and i'll let you know if i have it. -It might not be for a few months though, Sorry.
Cheers. Ollie

look for the C clip jusy behind the winder and infront of the door card use a flat blade screw driver to push it clear.

Lock removal easy when you have door handle and window winder off pop door car away from inside of door, behind that should be a sheet of plastic ease that up to expose the door guts you will see a metal C clamp that holds lock to door that needs to be sliding back try not to drop it as then you will need to fish it out from the bottom of your door. Last job pop the lock off the white nylon link arm you will see that is the only thig now holding lock to the main door lock.

you can buy the proper tool for the window winder from most car shops its a universal one for trim clips and they are only a few quid.

use a rag!

thread rag around back of winder & pull, the rag catches on of the clip ends & pulls it off & you dont lose the clip in the process;)
I realise that this is a very old thread, but the subject is the same.
My Panda is a '95 model. It has a collar flush up to the door card. I can't see a clip anywhere, and I am afraid of pulling too hard and breaking something off!
Can it be levered off somehow?

Push the collar towards the door quite forcefully, it will flex the door card a little but you will not do any damage, you should then be able to see the clip and get a flat blade screwdriver in to push the clip out. Don't try and lever it as you will brake the handle.

It can be tricky the first time, but after a few times it is pretty easy.

The horseshoe clip goes between the handle and collar - it grips round the handle. You need to pull the handle away from the collar & you should see it - best way is to push the bottom of the handle in towards the door card to reveal a small gap.

Taking the clip out is fun  I usually resort to a knife to hook it out - be careful though if you're not a responsible adult!! Then PING - try to catch it but they can fly back to Italy!!! (y)

Despite popular wisdom the handles stay on without the clip in normal use so if you think you need to get back in, keep the clip safe (if you caught it) and just pop the handle back on the spline.

Putting them back is much easier, put the clip back into the handle and then just push it onto the spindle. The end of the spindle is tapered so the clip expands as you push it on and then drops into the groove.

I also found the handles fall off quite easily without the clip and its no fun trying to find the handle under the seat whilst driving along!
