Styling Wind Deflector

Two mounts are needed, one on each side. If you look at the windstop picture you will see the two parts that stick down. one at each end of the windstop that slides into the mounts that are fitted to the car. The mount bolts onto the two screw holes close to the seatbelt. Once fitted you slide the windstop down into the mount and screw it tight. Hope that makes sence

Without the mounts you are stuffed as you wil have no way to fit the windstop. You could not make something up yourself as the mount is not as simple as you might think. Fiat only sell the windstop with the mounts so you will have no chance of getting replacments.

Most people that sell the windstop on eBay have the mounts but forget 2 take them off the car or take a picture for the aution. Best just to ask.

Thanks for the info Doc, I have asked the seller the question. Not sure if I want it anyway, I quite like the wind in my hair:D

Windstop with mounts

Got a reply from the guy selling the windstop on ebay. He does NOT have the mounts included!! I emailed him back to tell him that he needs to describe this in his posting as it is next to useless without the mounts. Lets see if he does:eek:

Dear all,
I just received my wind breaker which is just like
http://i22.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/a4/34/f4e1_1.JPG this one ( the one Doc displayed above)
I see in the instructions that I need to drill holes behind the seat belts to fit the mounts. How stupid is that since it is a FIAT original part?!?!?
Any suggestions uppon the fitting?

He's now owned up on his posting ;)

I have a transparent glass-like wind deflector and there is a small disturbing on my hair after 160 km/hour. If you are shorter than 180 I suppose there is no problem at all. Of course there is no problem in speed less than 16km/h especcially if you have the heater turned on. Its quite a nice experience.

Just treated my B (and my dodgy neck(n)) to an OEM windstop, and spent some time over the weekend scratching my head trying to work out how to fit it ... before finding this thread.(y)

I have the all-essential brackets, and on offering the thing up I think I can see how the brackets are supposed to screw into the seatbelt mountings - but my B doesn't have any pre-drilled holes (not that I can find, anyway!):bang:.

Has anyone else had to drill holes in their seatbelt mountings in order to fit the windstop - or am I just being dense and looking in the wrong place? (my B is a mk.1 LE, but not the one that came with the windstop as standard).

Any chance that someone with an OEM windstop could post a close-up photo that shows how & where it fixes onto the seatbelt mountings? I don't want to go drilling holes in the wrong places! :(
