Hi guys,
im not new to the forum but this is my first post.
Just have a few questions bout Cinque 1.1SPI to 1.2MPI conversion.
My plan is to drop the 75 MPI engine in, splice the single injector to four injector wires and now Im trying to figure out if 1.1SPI ecu will work with 1.2MPI engine since its the same wires for injectors basically.

Thanx for help,
Rok

For the engine conversion you only need everything from below the head. You 1.1 head will mate with the 75 block happy days. Keep the cam from the 75 engine and trail fit and measure the clearances and take the measurements to fiat or wherever and get the shims to put the 75 cam in.

It's all in the FAQ's listed in your sig.

Alternatively if you don't want to fit the cam then buy my spare P75 bottom end ;).

Sorry....

Thanks

Hehe i already have full P75 engine with loom and ecu but dont have the codebox from donor car so i dont know if i can use the ecu since i dont know if its uncoded. So thats why i was wondering if SPI ECU can run MPI engine. And yes i read the FAQ:) But havent found a definite answer if SPI ECU will run MPI engine:)

P.S. If i go with P75 block/cam and 1.1 SPI head combo will i get close to full P75 engine HP ?

Thanks thats what i wanted to know. I was 90% sure it should work becouse of the batch injection but wasnt sure if 1.1 SPI ecu can cope with fuel delivery since P75 has higher pressure fuel system.

Also, if i understood correctly from reading every thread almost :D the only difference in the loom is the injector part, everything else is the same ?

Hehe no need i didnt mention it. All i needed to know is if my 1.1SPI ECU will run 75MPI engine:)

Ive seen some ppl sayin that 1.1SPI ECU will not run 75MPI and some say they can run it so now im not sure what is true :) Anyone tried it ?

I've been recently researching the loom/ecu issues between 1.1 SPI and P75 family. And did some tests too. The bottom line is:

1. The P75 ECU starts and runs the 1.1 SPI engine, but not at all good, it is heavily underfueled due to injector size differences.

2. I guess it works the oposite the other way round, you will get overfuel. In any case you will need a remap to run smoothly. But you should be also aware that P75 ecu is somewhat superior to 1.1/1.2 SPI ecus, for example, the resultion of the main maps is larger (16x16 as oppposed to 12x16 in SPI).
Remap also applies to spark tables, as they are very different in the two engines (I guess because of the cam differences).

3. With the injector it's a simple cable replacement. You connect them in parallel (if I am right in thinking what parralel is). But there is also a mystery for me about injector impedances. From what I can remember reading in different places: connecting P75 ecu to spi engine is safe, the other way round can be harmful for the ecu because of lower or higher (beats me which one is which) injector impedance.

4. You may run into problems with the water temperature sensor. If the donor engine is from Palio 75 for example, the WT sensor plug is different. In Palio it is 3 pin and serves both the ECU and the dash. In 1.1 SPI there are two sensors, one 2 pin for the ECU, one 1 pin for the dash.

I have the engine from Punto 75 and complete loom, ecu and fuel pump.
Injectors need to be spliced in parralel thats no problem, impedence is no problem as all four injectors from MPI have less impendanace as SPI injector, so it should be safe to use SPI ecu. Temp sensor is np as i have complete loom from punto. I dont know yet if i have uncoded ecu from punto or immo one as in Italy that was an option and my donor engine is from Italian scrapyard:) If itz uncoded then all is good but if itz not i was hoping i could just use cinque ecu.
