Styling Wide-Body

Hi Guys,

This may sound a bit out of the norm but I just wanted to ask if there is any Wide-Body kits for the Punto Mk2. I have a Punto Mk2 and I'm not asking this because I'm interested in installing the kit but just for my curiosity. I think I never saw a Mk2 Punto with a wide-Body kit before. Is there anyone in this forum that installed one of these on their Punto or is there anyone that has a picture of one installed? Just wanted to see what it does look like hehe

never come across one.... if it were to be done, it would be a full bespoke job made to order and would prob look as ugly as a bulldog chewing a wasp.

ive saw on thread were someone started doing a wide body,smoothing the arches in and everything,then people stared taking the **** about things,so the person just didnt come on again
As said above though it would probably be some aftetermarket ****e if you did find one,unless you did an rally car kit :yum::yum:

would love someone to add this kit to a punto,but i heard its very very pricey and take quite a lot of work to smooth it all in

doesnt look that good to be honest. I think Puntos are better with a clean look.

Without redesigned wide track suspension there is no point in widening the wings.

If super wide wheels are fitted, all the extra width will be on the outside. This will quickly wreck wheel bearings and more importantly will mess up the steering and suspension geometry so the car wont handle or stop safely and could easily be a death trap in the wet.

If you want to put a Punto body onto the running gear from a bigger car (e.g. Alfa 156, Bravo, Coupe, etc) you will need to widen the wings and lots more. Get some serious engineering skills for some serious metal surgery.

If you simply want the wide look, the car wont be safe to use and you will get laughed at.

Both options will likely look pretty horrible.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, bodykits on Puntos should only go as far as the Abarth kit IMO, anything else just looks too much out of place and unnatural
