why does my fiat bravo have trouble starting

[hey everybody]

i have a 2000 fiat bravo trofeo, when the car is left for a long period of time (2-3hours) it does not like starting up at all. it has real difficulties to start. i have had the battery alternator and starter motor check and there all A-ok. I changed da sparks bout 2months ago...wht the hell is wrong wiv the stupid thing!!! i dont wanna have 2pay for a diagnosis....im a student!

yh its my engine my friend everytime i start the engine its like it just cuts out, straight away, have to twist the key about 2 or 3 times before lift off!!!

sounds like a fuel starvation.. or air lock in the fuel line....

basicly... when its stopped and standing.. it is drawing in air from somewhere by the injectors and creating an air lock.... wenu start it.. it has to pump the air out of the pipes b4 it gets fuel.

pop it to fiat and speak nicely.. ask them for a quote!! they shouldn't charge u anything.. cos all ur after is a quote for the work. explain u've changed everything u think it might be... a diognotic might be best.. it's better knowing its not summit majour even if it costs £20

Does it happen only when cold, or even if its warm ?

If it only does it when it's cold, it's likely to be an electrical problem with some form of "conductor" issue, ie plastic expanding when warm.

Other that that I'm clueless (in general too).

If you leave it overnight is it still hard to start?

if i leave it overnight thats wen its worst 2restart..but it doesnt matter if its cold or not.because wen i finish work it has trouble startin

i have a similar problem with my 2000 1.2 brava. mine will turn over but wont start when i first try to start it on the second go it works fine. only happens if its parked up for a couple of hours or overnight.

Next time turn the ignition on and count to 20 then try and start it.

Diagnostics will only pick up engine faults when it's running.

The Fiat SMART laptop will pick up ANY abnormalities. Be prepared to pay.
