Technical whos got Infra-Red Central locking??

my Infra-Red central locking doesnt work??

i press the reset button on the infra-red reciever on sunroof panel and the red light blinks on it for few seconds and thats it?
the key is also woking as the red light comes on when i press the button?

however the previous owner did have a NON-fiat alarm installed which they disconnected as it wasnt working properly?? could this have somthing to do with the Standard Fiat infra-red central locking working?

What Punto you got? mine doesn't have remote locking, so I can't help, other than wonder if it's really infra-red. If it is perhaps giving the sensor a clean might help...

What about changing the battery in the handset i may well light up the red LED but might not have the power to trigger it thats what happened on mine!

its deffintaly infra-red!! as i can see the sensor housing in the sunroof panel, and also the previous owner said i have to point it to the sensor to lock doors!

the red led light comes on on the key and on the infra red module in the sunroof panel when i try to programme it! but i will try changing the battery in the key and then see....


why oh why did fiat use infra-red for the locking system!
its so crappy!
according to the handbook its more environmetally freindly compared to radiowaves!
the whole damn car handbook has an evironmentally friendy theme!!
