its an age old argument powder or paint on wheels...

powder is certainly more durable if done properly, i tend to lean towards not powder coating alloy wheels just cause i don't want to put alloy wheels in an oven as it could weaken them - clearly alot if not most will be totally fine but its not something you want to get brittle and then fail at motorway speeds. Steelie are gonna be fine to powdercoat.

Paint isn't as durable as powder but then if it gets damaged paint is easier and cheaper to fix usually.

So really you can argue the merits of both really - and in both cases, prep prep prep! both will last ages if prepped properly and done well.

aye, my dad has his T25 syncro steelies powder coated, and they are fine after over a year, even with doing a bit of off roading!

i may end up painting them myself, will have to see...

takes me so long to get through a tank but i will workout mpg when i next fill up, I took a pic of the dash to record to miles so i could do just that. Is 39mpg not a bit low though, i would guesstimate mine does way more than that without having actually calculated it. Like I say though, takes a fair while for me to use a tanks worth as its a 3rd car.

you don't have to use full tank.
just fill up to full, let say seccond nozzle clik, run car for 50 miles , re-fuel, note milage, liters and you're sorted. More accurate figures from longer runs of coarse.

Not long after I got Char' I worked out the average to be about 46mpg over 2 tanks (y)

Yeah I know. I always fill up to the first click in all my cars to work out mpg. My mjet 500 is averaging just shy of 60mpg over a tank, the Ignis just over 30mpg. Got all the bits to get Char' back together now so will be dailying it again then - get far better average if you do it over more miles. Although the panda speedo is not particularly accurate so prob not gonna be hugely accurate anyways

its my second car, so only really use it for pootling about in, it does want a proper carb tune up though!

better than my subaru @ 25mpg!

[edit] also, as a side note from your last comment, my panda speedo is actually pretty close to GPS, only about 2mph out at 40!

Yeah mine isn't really accurate at all over like 30 but then it under reads as all speedo do so the real mpg would be better than calculated if anything
