General Which winter tyres are people going for

I understand why you disliked my post Robin,

a chap on the coast has a 'weather rock' hanging from his hut on the beach with a board giving the up to date weather, and it is 100% accurate

if the rock is swinging it is windy

if the rock is wet it is raining

if the rock is white it is snowing

so simple, no electric, no computer, no app
well, if the rock starts drying, the rain has stopped etc
LOL

and going on longer than Corrie Orrie

He doesn't like winter tyre threads, fairy nuff, but to post constant nothing replies in them is just annoying and he/she needs to stop. There are a lot of threads on the forum I have simply no interest in and I either stay out or say my bit and leave. To contantly come into threads and just laughing is not contributing anything at all.

Ordered 4 steel wheels for £163.00 and 4 Vredesteins 175/65 R14s for £240.00 which should arrive sometime next week. All that remains then is for them to be fitted. :) Someone is going to say that I paid too much for them, but I left it a bit late and prices have gone up since September. Needless to say I shall use the correct tyre pressures as recommended by Vredestein.

I HEREBY CONFIRM THAT PRIOR TO THE POSTING OF THIS ENQUIRY I HAVE MADE DUE ENQUIRY OF THE HOLY HANDBOOK OF TURIN.

Winter tyre pressures: the manual suggests 2.0 to 2.2 bar for the 1.2 on 14 inch wheels (depending on the load). I have put in 2.1 bar but the tyres (Vredesteins) look almost a bit flat.

Any thoughts?

Check Vredestein website they have pressures for their winters listed on site

Touché!

Confused with Tipo/Bravo tyres which are coming off the rims which are 195/50R15 - or made typo. Can't remember which.

I only noticed when I went on the Vredestein website and the size of tyres you mentioned wasn't listed, I went back to your pics and they were thankfully the right size.

Are Vredesteins Snowtracs like gold dust? I had to change my order to Goodyear Ultragrip 8 as they were not expecting deliveries until January! It was cheaper by about £20.00. Tried ordering Michelin Alpins from Costco and they didn't know when they would get a delivery. Argh!

None of us here have access to stock levels so we wouldn't know.

The ultragrips are quite probably better anyway judging by the latest tests. I hope you went through topcashback! :)
