Maybe that's why they build a commode into the passenger seat. (obviously they consider people who have chosen the leather or interscope options to be careful drivers.)

Leather wipes clean :p Only brown trousers moment in the 500 has been on summer tyres in summer :p

I HEREBY CONFIRM THAT PRIOR TO THE POSTING OF THIS ENQUIRY I HAVE MADE DUE ENQUIRY OF THE HOLY HANDBOOK OF TURIN.

Winter tyre pressures: the manual suggests 2.0 to 2.2 bar for the 1.2 on 14 inch wheels (depending on the load). I have put in 2.1 bar but the tyres (Vredesteins) look almost a bit flat.

Any thoughts?

This morning I have just been out to the garage and checked the tyre pressures on my full new set of 14 inchers shod with Vredesteins. I bought a decent digital pressure gauge yesterday. The difference in pressure reading on my manual footpump and the digital pressure gauge is 4 to 5 bar. I'm sticking with the digital reading. I've ensured that they are 2.0 bar all round in accordance with the holy book. I obviously haven't put the winter rubber on just yet, still far too warm imho for that. Will be interesting to see how much squash is noticeable once I put the new wheels on, but tbh, my summer rubber has 2.0 bar all round (checked cold this morning) and the tyres look absolutely fine and I do appreciate that they are obviously a slightly harder compound.

I don't think you mean that, do you?

Yes, sorry, seen my mistake!:bang: I was getting myself mixed up between PSI and Bar as I was checking both the wife's 500 and my Caddy (I always check the Cadillac in PSI) The foot pump is under reading by about 5 psi, so I guess from memory, the pressure in bar showing on the footpump, was about 1 and half bar or less.

RTFVWN! (read the ****ing Vredestein website noob!) :p

2.3 bar front 2.2 bar rear. That is what they recommend for winter tyres and so far my tyres are wearing evenly after 2 and a bit winters so I would recommend you go with that for Vredestein Snowtrac 3's in 175/65 R14. I would always go for the tyre manufacturers recommendation if possible and if that's not possible then go for the car manufacturer's recommendation.

(y) for the Python reference!

Ok know it all, I'll go and stick another .2 bar back in my Vredesteins so you can wallow in your own righteousness!!!:worship: (y)

I'm 99% sure you're not trying to be funny, but before anyone goes off at me for my RTFVWN remark it was a joke :)

Ooooh Maxi!! You aint gettin hot under the collar are you? Let's be clear, I don't do jokes, I aint funny, I have zero personality and I take offence at just about everything, so goodness knows what I'm doing on this forum!!!

The whole point is, that is my sense of humour, absolutely no offence whatsoever is intended to anyone, especially Maxi. There's a good sayin, if you can't take it, don't dish it out (jokingly of course!!):)

Why do you want to know the pressures for tyres that you don't actually own? :p

If you want to know the pressures for 195/60 R15's however, then sadly Goodyear doesn't list pressures like the Vredestein website. Vredestein suggest 2.5 bar for the fronts and 2.7 for the rears. I would have a look at your handbook and perhaps choose a figure which is in the middle of these two figures :) Or just go with the Vredestein ones, see how they feel and then change the pressures to what Fiat specify and go with what you're happiest.
