Hi All,

Currently have Hertz ESK 165 Door speakers installed into my car.

Looking to get a sub very soon though.

Source sound have suggested using Hertz HE4 AMp to power both the door speakers and sub...

...with that in mind, can someone offer a good starting point to look for subs or just suggest a good performer that is value for money.

Im looking around £150 - 200.

Thanks in advance,

Sam

£120. Thats what i paid for it a couple of weeks ago. (y) You would certainly be unique. Type DLS RW10i into google and see where you can buy them from

Tempting...hmmm i rose to your challenge and found very little on google! lol. Why aren't they for sale widely anymore, just discontinued?

Does the sub come with enclosure mate?

Wiring kit?

More to the point, is it good quality? This may be the best of the best for all i know so i do apologise :D

DLS Dont have a UK distro atm and yes it is one of the best of the best. Its designed to play quality bass, not shake the car to pieces.
DLS is pretty much the highest regarded commercial audio manufacturer. Even though its not particularly commercial here
It is in the same price range as the Mids and Tweets that i use and they are absolutely awesome.

Unfortunately no enclosure (only needs about 0.6cu ft/ 20 litres) or wiring. Its cheap enough as it is lol.

Rather than start a new topic...

..has anybody any suggestions on how to prevent theft of audio systems?

Other than get an alarm, I cant think. Maybe that is the only solution im not sure.

My reasoning is that I myself know people (not friends) that have said to me before "tell me a car that has a good sub and ill get it for you £80..."

Obviously I didnt but thats good reason to try and protect mine when installed.

Any ideas? :)

EDIT: APOLOGIES, WRONG SECTION

In regards of theft, I find common sense is the biggest winner. Make sure your faceplate is always removed on your stereo. When you fit speakers, make sure their hidden by either oem or oem "looking" grilles. Don't put stickers on your car containing brand names (I.e don't advertise what's in it).

Also when you pull into car parks or dodgy looking areas, turn your stereo down / off. So people can't hear you have a system, stops them being nosey after you've parked up.

Other than that, fit an alarm and depending what can be seen fit tints / privacy blinds.

I have tinted windows so you cant see in my boot. I use security bolts as your joe average tief isnt likely to be carrying a selection of safety Hex drivers.
Although thats a bit in vein for me with these in the front window.
