Which Replacement H1 Bulb ?

Hi there,

I am going to change my 98' HGT's original H1 bulbs with the following H1's but which one ?

1- OSRAM SilverStar SVS (+ %50 More light ) White Light

2- PHILIPS VisionPlus (+ %50 More Light) White Light

Any1 tried one of these brands ?

Which one is better & why ?

What about the bulb-life, price, performance ?

As always, both companies insist on that they are the best...

PS: May I clean the headlamps internal parts(Glass,mirrors etc..) entering from the bulb space ?
Is there enough space to work ?

Don`t know about the bulbs, but do NOT touch the in side of the lights, as the coating is extremely touchy! You will ruin them.

Auto Express did a comparison test a while back.
Philips Vision plus came tops.
I use them. Better than 100 watt halogens.
PIAA claim their bulbs are the dogs ********.
********, don't touch 'em!

I plugged the OSRAM SVS (SilverStar) H1 because they were cheaper a lot... (Only in Turkey maybe..)

These + %50 bulbs really count !

They are brighter & add a length of 20m !

Huge difference...

Definitely recommend them everyone who has the standart headlights (no lens..)

I have some PIAA bulbs, and i think that they are the best by far! they were quite pricey, but are far better than any other bulb I have ever bought!

PIAA do a variety of bulbs, I think the one si bought were the super white ones, i'd have to check that though, i dont suppose you know which PIAA bulbs they used in the test?

Re PIAA bulbs

Sorry, can't remember as it was a over 12 months ago.
I do remember that they got stuffed by the Phillips, Osram and Redring bulbs in all categories, brightness, geometry and distance.

well liek I Said, they do various different bulbs, all i knwo is that i have the super white ones ( i think lol) and they are amazing!
