Which redex is the right one to use on my car? Its a 1.2 SX 16v Bravo on a W/2000 plate.
Thanks

Fuel Treatment:

Dont unless you want to risk a warning light to appear. Most peoples experience on here if its not been used regularly from new or if you hardly use redex and just decided to give the engine etc a clean then you risk loosening all the build up of rubbish and what then happens is its pushes through the injectors which may cause them to get blocked and fail.

It hasn't been done whilst I've had it (just one year) not sure about before then. What would everyone recommend then, use it or not?
Cheers

hurmmm, is redex like a nos shot thingy that you put in with your petrol to clean the pipes and what not??????????

I've used various redex/STP etc treatments in the past and i can't say i noticed any difference to performance or MPG.

Forte's gas treatment seems to come recommended but is pretty pricey and only available from certain places. I got some from a local garage which got it through the emissions test.

Forte does seem to be the treatment of choice. I empty a bottle in mine about every 9 months.

yup. redex was probably good when it first came out, but engines and fuels evolve, and now Forte' is definitely the additive of choice. I'd recommend a bottle of of their Gas Treatment every time you service. Just 1 bottle in a full tank of petrol. It costs £10 which is almost double the price of redex, but its twice as good :D
