Hey guys,

Was just wondering which is the cheaper Bravo to run. That's tax, insurance, petrol/diesel and so on? Which do you think would leave you with more money in your pocket? The 1.2 or the JTD?

Cheers,

Garry

Depends on mileage you do really.

JTD will be more to insure, road tax is the roughly the same but you'll be paying more to the litre. As i said, depends on the mileage you do.

1.2 = 41
1.9 = 52

12,000 miles of fuel

1.9 = £1154.01 @ £1.10 litre

Insurance Group

£145 for a year on my 1.2 I've just paid. Like Joske, mine is after March 2001.

if you do short journeys not too much difference between the two, but the jtd will be alot better on a run with mpg being 60+ and probably better to drive with the extra power

i think a maf is a bit cheaper than a gearbox and alot easier to fix too. if insurance isnt an issue then getting a jtd100 would be cheaper to run imo

Depends how you drive your 1.2. Drive it like a HGT then you're asking for trouble. Accept it is a weak, fragile and weak engine/gearbox and you'll be ok.

Brake parts are cheaper and servicing parts are generally cheaper.

Not much in it really I would have thought between a JTD and 1.2. But horses for courses to an extent - depends what your needs and preferences are.

Given the choice between a JTD and 1.2 - I would go for a 1.2. But thats just my choice as I believe a petrol would service my needs better.
