which type of code reader would I need for a 2001 2.0jtd Scudo? I had the AA out recently & the one they use would not read my vehicle.

Take a look at Gendan products, work well & cheap enough too. Just dont expect any Diags reader to tell you exactly what has failed & what to swap, you have to be careful in doing the whole diagnosis trick...

Thanks but their tools only seem suitable for diesels from 2004 onwards, have emailed them.

Been in contact with them & they say this one will work as the software has been written to work with pre 2004 Fiat diesels. Just placed an order, will let you know how I get on.

the 2.0 JTD is actually the peugeot DW10ATED engine, and can be accessed using any tool that will talk to peugeot diesels.. eobd might get you fault codes though.

Got the scanner next day delivery, wouldn't work at firsts, then I found out there was no power at pin 16 on the van's obd socket (pin 16, 12v supply) put temporary supply to pin 16 & scanner worked but found no error codes, the engine management light is on all the time & the stop light on the dash is flashing.. anyone got any ideas? ECU fault??

Why have I lost power to pin 16? can't find any blown fuses

I've downloaded Fiat ECU Scan but there are no options for the Scudo in the software, are any of the other vehicles in the list compatible for use on the Scudo??

Sorry to jump on this. Post but I was looking for the same sort of thing for a 94 Fiat cinquecento.
I have the fuel injector warning light on and need to establish the exact error so I don't get ripped off at the garage.
