Im looking for an air intake for the tjet engine, ive tried tmc induction but it didnt fit snug and it was sooo loud.

What have you got?
What does it sound like?
And most importantly, did you see or feel any gains....

This is the last piece of the puzzle before the rolling road remap

Cheers guys

I've got a K&N panel filter in mine (direct replacement for the paper one) and find its just as good as any cone filter I've ever had. There's no sound to it though and you still retain your original air box so you won't impress your mates when you open the bonnet but there a third of the price (even more in some cases!) compared to a cone filter kit but and, in my opinion, just as good as a cone filter as there made of the same stuff.

As for "feeling" the gains....... Well no you won't notice any at all really? I'm sure if you hooked it up on a machine you may get 0.5 of a horse power but used with a decent exhaust and a remap and then you'll see some power gains (y)

Cheers mate, ive got a remap, and turbo back, with sports cat, and forge intercooler, have a bmc panel in atm so want a higher flow system. Just not many around for the tjet

Ive seen this one from a german company, pipercross filter inside, and direct fit to the standard hose. Then you can set the air feed wherever you want it, also emailed them, thet said it fits right hand drive cars.

Has anyone else got one of these, its a long shot i know, just want to know how loud it is, dont want it to be stupidly loud, not many videos on youtube

I have a BMC panel in mine and you can kind of hear it, I find it better than the cone I had on as there is less lag :)

Yeah I've got tony banks decat downpipe, supersprint cat back, vl36 turbo and forge FMIC and I find the filter spot on with mine, until its mapped anyway :)

There's a place in Leeds called RS tuning, they custom map cars so will take your mods and make the best out of them as a pose to a generic map, most of my mates have been there and they make decent power, my mates old tjet ran 194bhp after they mapped it and he has same bits as me

Nice, ive been in contact with elite remaps in stanningley, they have the rolling road and all the gadgets and custom map it, might look up rs tuning up

Yeah I would they have done some professional cars for drifting and track cars etc they dealt with my mates nurburg Astra running 405bhp, absolutely mental, they guy is called Paul :)

Well i tried the tmc, and it was stupidly loud, was a tad embarrasing tbh, thinking a carbon airbox type would be more subtle

I Imagine it to be similar then, as would any silicone based induction.

I myself run a piper cross panel filter. and that 'chatters' without the horrible 'embarrassing ' suction noise that you would get from induction kits.

BHP gains like stated in above posts are hardly noticeable in everyday cars.

I tell a lie, i have an itg filter, gives a good noise, going to get it dynod, see what the graph says, if i can get more out of it with just a panel, ill happily stick with it, sent an email to rs tuning, see what they say
