any ideas where to get diagnostic cable to fit fiat car for my pc or if possible for my ppc many thanks

you need more than a cable to connect a pc to the car. you need to make an OBD to RS232 interpreter, then you need some software. google "OBD to RS232 interpreter" and i'm sure you'll find plenty to read.

got some software had look for cables and code readers then it comes down to which ones to get then came across this http://www.vitalengineering.co.uk/products.htm
its a bluetooth device that you plug into car it can connect to your pc,laptop, and mobile phone have a look it looks good and comes with software

those carpals use the standard 16pin connector, while your car uses the fiat 3 pin connector, so you cant connect it directly to your car. however it would still work if you use a few lengths of wire to connect the carpal's 16 pin connector to your car's 3 pin connector and battery.

on the 16 pin obd2 connector use the following pins
4- chassis ground (connect to ground on 3 pin connector)
5- signal ground (connect to black wire pin on 3 pin connector)
7- k line (connect to white wire pin on 3 pin connector)
16- 12vDC (connect to battery positive terminal)

this approach works fine on other 16pin OBDII connectors so i see no reason why it wont work on this bluetooth style connector. bluetooth is used to overcome the signal voltage differences between your computer and car, in the same way a OBD to RS232 interpreter works. but this is a wireless version which is more convenient. how well it will work i cant say. and if the software will work on your car is, as always, unknown until you try.

remember there are several 3 pin connectors on each car, depending on model. different connectors allow access to different modules. if you use one (e.g. main diag) and wonder why you cant find something (e.g. airbag) it is because you're using the wrong 3 pin connector

This site has a simple to make interface, also does KWP2000 software with a version for Punto. Haven't tried the software but the interface works fine.

my airbag light is on i have been reading lots of post my problem is it say with the bluetooth device i mentioned before it says i can't reset the light with that but i read that when i fix the problem it will reset itself. So is it better to get a cable than going for the bluetooth i am starting to get confused on wich to buy

the airbag ecu does not automatically reset codes when the fault is fixed, it must be done manually. this is a great money making scam for fiat (and most other brands).

i would prefer a cable, but only because i'm familiar with cables and how they work, and bluetooth does not sound like a good alternative to me, more of a gimmik.

if you can get the correct software you can reset the airbag light (i dont know specifically of any that will do it, but it must exist). wiring wise connecting to the airbag module is the same as any other, the wiring is the same, you simply use a different 3 pin connector to do it.
