I've just bought a Bravo 1.8HLX (S) Reg, I love it and was delighted to find this fantastic forum.

Someone mentioned they got the changer for a Bravo for £200, can you tell me where.

OH, and how easy is it to fit?

Thanks.

CD changer

try www.caraudiodirect.com last entry in the forum it cost 199.99 including vat and delivery as well but its only in the uk .Fitting is easy ,best place is under the back seat, just search back in the forum for more details

Agree

I got my CD changer from car audio direct.it is £199:00 and I think the next day delivery charge is £7.
I had trouble fitting mine under the rear seat. Not sure if it's because I have the leather option but the rear seat did not go down far enough with the CD underneath it.
The cable was a pain to find. It had been left coile up in the panel where the rear light cluste is, but it was trailed all the way up the rear quater panel, so I had to take of the panel at the rear of the boot and the rear quater panel to locate it :(
I have installed my cdchanger in the boot on the lefthand side, it doesn't take up that much room.

New System

An alternative to this grundig unit is to replace the whole system with a new radio and changer. It really is very simple. The fiat unit is Ok but offers no depth or richness of sound. For a few extra pounds a good Sony or Pioneer unit can be fiited. The Fiat unit is very easy to take out and you juts need to fit a face adaptor to put the new unit in (£12.00). Then 3hrs fitting, the wiring is all explained and the sound difference will be worth all the effort. I am not talking base and subs does clean clear deep sound, of course the speakers can also be reaplced and any after market custom fit will amaze you. Of course it all costs money so work to your budget. I sold my unit and CD changer to a guy in Holland so I cannot help you but at least the CD unit is still cheaper than waht fiat are charging so now you have an informed choice.
cheers

Thanks Fella's!

That's great I have contacted the source and they have several in stock, so I just ordered one. One thing though, has anyone got a photo of the CD Changer in position under the seat? or perhaps a photo of the underseat from the boot area (with the seats raised?). I'm sure this would help many of us who are wanting to add the unit under the seats, there have been so many requests on this topic that it would be very helpful!

Thanks again...

Graham

CD mounting

Graham, here is a top tip. Buy a new parcel shelf, one of the stealth kind made of MDF. You can then mount the CD player on this, then you will not use up any boot space and of course the CD player will be protected and very accessible. As a bouns you can also fit some quality 6x9 speakers and just connect them instead of the standard fiat ones. All the connections to the parcel shelf can be quick release so that if you ever need to remove the parcel shelf it will be easy. The system will sound better and your CD system will benifit from the speaker upgrade.
Cheers
P.S. parcel shelf can cost from £35.00 to £60.00 even some outlets of halfords do them now.

Good advice all. But John, one of the reasons for buying a Bravo for me was that the audio set-up is diffenent i.e. the unit does not fit in other cars, so putting the fascia adaptor in has "nick me" written all over it. Thanks for the advice though.
