hey guys i need a second opinion here. i went to fit my alloys today and there are these spikes poking out of the hub (see highlighted in picture)

am i right in thinking these are wheel alignment spikes for the steel wheels? am i okay to remove these as my alloys wont fit without them? thanks :)

Mine needed a deep 6 point socket with a small internal chamfer. Mine had too much chamfer so I used mole grips and a ring spanner.

The spikes make it easier (yeah right) to fit the wheels but more important they stop the disk/drum coming loose when the wheel is off. That's not itself a problem (all held by wheel bolts) but if dirt drops behind the disk/drum it wont sit straight and the brakes will pulse.

The alloys should have pockets in the back face but not deep enough for the spikes. Fit some normal 6mm bolts in place of the spikes.

Hi there

Did you ever figure this out ?
I have a Punto II 1.2 60 2005 and i want to install some wheel spacers but the 2 bolts are in the way.
Is it safe to remove them without the hole wheel will fall of when driving

Yes, you can remove them, it's safe without them. The only thing is, that it's a little bit fiddly to align the holes when mounting the wheels.
