Right, I have just got a 2 yr old Stilo. I f**king love it.

I had a Problem with the cd player, and after much a gnashing of teeth the bloke i bought it from replaced it with the standard stilo radio / cas' and £150.00. (its a long story)mad:

Anyway i now want to stick in a multi changer. I have spoke to Fiat and they tell me its 270 quid for the Blaupunkt dashboard 5 disk, or 230 for the unit without the leads and moded inner.

My question to you lot is this : Can i not get a multi changer of my choice..
say a Sony/JVC..etc, and have this mounted in the dash, the get and adaptor cable to go from this into the back of the Stilo Radio.

Fiat say that with the Stilo Radio you can ONLY fit the Blaupunkt gear...is this right / True / my only option ?( failing replacing the actual radio unit itself)

As far as I recall from a previous thread. It is type specific.
May look the same but there is a version specific to the Stilo.
Other choice is a complete change of head unit
with a standard DIN replacment insert for the DASH.

I've been there, done that etc. The Blaupunkt Fiat head unit will only accept a Blaupunkt Fiat CD changer. Bluespot sell the very same changer but it wont work cos its not the Fiat one, there is a software lock. I had mine fitted for £230 all in.
The alternative is you ditch the Fiat head unit alltogether and buy a package.

Thats interesting, coz I would prefer an MP3 in preference to the CDC I am after!

How certain are they that it will be compatible with the NAV+ unit, and any idea of the cost?

EDIT - Just noted you in Sweden, so cost pretty irrelevant!

Re: Doesn't matter............................

Cheers TC!

Maybe as Ulysse moderator I too should slag off all the other Ulysse owners on here!?
Or maybe I should stick a taxi sign on that as well ;)

No........................

Stick the TAXI sign on the ugly Stilo and with the Ugslelyaee, or whatever it's called, just stick STENA on the side, as it looks like a ferry/barge!

It would have to be 'STENA Lynx', they are the faster craft I would have you know :)

Look at the site ^ and mail them and ask! :) I'm not sure if it's compatible with the NAV! But it is with standard CD-player! Price in Sweden is 2995 swedish kronas or 322€ or 219,49 GBP what u prefer :)

If it has an aftermarket head unit in it now, you can use any CD changer as long as the make is the same as the head unit. Eg. Sony head unit, it has to be a Sony changer. Run the cable from the boot along, under the side sills and up the near side of the dash behind the unit.
Do not EVER buy audio equipment from a dealership. It is a rip off and not even that good. Trust me, I used to be a Service Receptionist!

Er, in my case it is the NAV+ unit - therefore HAS to be the Blaupunkt CDC!

The prices are always negotiable from a dealership, anyway! Trust me, I am an accountant, lol ;)

Hi,
Not sure if you can fit any other make of cd multi-changer, but I have fitted the Blaupunkt and it works and sounds great.

An old thread re-surfaced.....

I bought a Stilo CD changer off Ebay, fitted it in the upper glove box thing and plugged it into the back of the stereo. Cost less than £100. Works fine, and less than half dealer price
