Hi All,

I've had a scour on the site and on Google etc, but can't find an answer.

I need to transport some paving slabs and dont really want to fork out for van hire. I can do multiple trips, but I don't want to overload the Punto. Does anyone know the weight limit for a Grande Punto 1.4 Sport (or any other model for that matter) so I can plan the journey(s)?

TIA,

Steve

The vin plate or handbook will give you the official gross vehicle weight. There is also a max load for each axle. It's probably a lot higher than you would feel comfortable loading the car to.

Cheers guys.

The VIN plate is giving me four numbers (in kg): 1585, 2585 then 1)850 and 2)850.

Looking at the manual, it states that curb weight is 1025, and with payload of 560, max load is 1585.

Going by the above, the VIN plate is telling me I have a max of 2585kg, but the manual is saying 1585kg.

I'd hazard a guess that I can get away with 560kg incuding my backside... am I getting that right?

The 2585kg figure is the gross train weight, i.e. Max weight of car and trailer. 520 or so kgs sounds about right for the payload. That's quite a few slabs.

I have a total 25 slabs to shift at 15kg each, so that plus my 90kg comes to the 465kg mark. One trip it is!
