The Roar of the 5 POT !!!!!!!!!

Thank's to Kee I'm back up and running with my HGT.. Big thanks Kee for sorting me out with the tensioner..

A part of me has been missing since Friday and i now know that i never wanna be without my HGT ever again......

I LOVE IT....LONG LIVE THE HGT 155!!!!

the 5 pot warble,ya cant beat it! sounds awesome, especially with an aftermarket exhaust :)
 
LOL, its even better when they are not expecteing it from a estate car lol, with a cone filter they roar, and with my new exhuast soon to be sorted it should sound immense

try an open induction kit with a straight through system and a decat... ;) if its not too loud that is

the mid range rasp and the pops are soo addictive you use half a tank just pissing about!
 
Karl: how hard was it 2change? And by Tensioner do you mean the 1 on the half moon type bracket? Not sure which one of mine needs doin can't seem to figure out as it's loud on start up when whistling.I know it's best to change both but gonna do them at different times.

Yea thats the one Mikey, its the one that sits right next to the bottom engine mount near the bottom pulley and the bottom PS pump to the right. Its a doddle to get off x2 13mil bolts and a 17mil spanner needed to turn tensioner to slacken the belt, may need a flat head screwdriver to prise it away from the engine....

You may just need to tighten your belt up just loosen the x2 13mil tighten and nip em up again see it its still wistling.

cheers for the heads up and how to :) wasnt sure how to get it off.
its not the belt,the belt's tight,made sure of that when putting them on :).when belts lose/slippin it kinda makes a screachin noise,but in my presence it does whistle..for a good 15 mins till its warm lol

the other one that needs doin is the idler,little running one.Knowing my luck,ill replace the adjustable one and it wont be that..sods law ha
 
There's no comparison between a beautiful HGT 5-pot roar & a tractor (JTD -Oil Burner)..! What are you on about mr dark lurker?? Can't even put your name to the comment...! LOL

I think we should have a sound library on the site somewhere! Post up sound clips of your 5 pot exhausts :) I'll have to do mine next week at work as it is pretty loud and I don't think the neighbours will be too pleased!

Well as I use to say - My JTD might be as quick as a HGT, it might do double the MPG to a HGT but I know car I'd sooner be in... and it's not the JTD!


I think even tho times are really hard & money is tighter than ever I will have to get the HGT back on the road - cos the sound of that 5 pot lets you for that moment forget about all your worries.



then the harsh reality that your prob going too fast and doing about 12mpg hits in... still beaming smile tho :)



HGT will be reborn after the honeymoon!

I was trying to find the vids Kate took of Growly going up the test hill but culdnt find them!

She is a little on the harsh side at times, but i love her. Unfortunately she will be sold soon, i can have so much more fun in a car with better economy (unfortunately a very big thing for me now I am doing 500 miles a week in commuting alone)
