Better than I managed...got to attend a Nerf party.

So spent an hour being shot in the face.
There is a reason we don’t have gun type toys in the house.

Went to see my brother a couple of weeks ago and his boy has a whole box of nerf guns. My boy just thought it was fun shooting them up in the air and watching the darts come down again.

I don’t envy you at all

We don't either.. although he's a crack shot with a bow and arrow.

Of course every attendee was given a Nerf gun...which absolutely won't go missing while he's at school one day.

Y'all did better than I.

There was a planned grandson soccer game that got cancelled, which all in all, made me smile because of distance would burn up about 4 hours of my day. So it was just another Sunday that I spent pressure washing the deck.

A number of years ago, my youngest bought me a lap in a Lamborghini Adventador. 650hp, AWD, and, sigh, an auto transmission. Talk about a kick in the nuts.

Cue the trumpeteers! I'm now the proud owner of a rose coloured Google Pixel 8 phone. Can't quite believe I've actually bought one! What colour did you say? I hear you all shouting. Well, rose is the only colour they're selling off at slightly under half price so rose it had to be! It's going in a protective case anyway so most of the colour won't be seen - anyway, I'm past caring about being "hip" - or whatever you call it these days - The fact I saved a wad of cash makes me very happy. Now all I've got to do is make it work!

Ooops, just took it out of the box and it's slippery as an eel! jumped out of my hand like a wet bar of soap it did! luckily landed on the sofa so no harm done. Better buy a non slip case for it pretty quick. Anyone recommend a source/make of case?

Erm as said elsewhere I use Spigen tough armour case.

After 3 years of living in my pocket etc is looks like this..

Note how thick the edges are and all the foam inside..

It's a bit of a chunk of a thing but so far it's proved 6 year old proof.

Thanks Steven. I should have remembered that. I'm concerned that this design of case still has an open face when not in use though. Is there a reason not to have a folding one? Maybe just the thickness?

I'd say the thickness of this exceeds most folding cases in total.

Not sure there is a flip front rugged case although to be honest I've never looked. Last flip case I had was years ago the glass technology has come on a very long way so as long as the corners are protected you have to be trying very hard to even mark the screen nevermind break it. You can also get screen protectors to protect the screen but as said I've done with out for some time without issue. I used to use Spigen neoflex which can be a little tricky to put on first time out but are very good quality and durable.

It's personal preference regards the flip no reason really not to have one I just don't like them much.

So you didn't buy it to match the rest of your wardrobe?;););)

How did you guess? It's the shoes I'm most worried about, just couldn't get the shade quite right!

In terms of hiding it...

Being Amazon can get one tomorrow..the Matt finish and rubberised edges make the phone a lot more grippy. Oh and if the Skoda has a wireless charging pad will work with that as well.

In the pictures you can see how the phone fits in the case and sits quite deep so as to stop the screen being first thing to contact the ground in a drop.

One thing I did remember from my last flip case...dropping it while open...that was not a good day 🤣

The aftermath of the nerf gun party continues.

Son video called me (don't ask..the joys of Amazon Alexa) at 5:30 am to ask if when it snows we could go hunting Yetis.

Once actually up he expanded on this with when it snows we can use this gun to go hunting a Yeti?

He is now drawing a map to the Yeti on the other side of the mountains...like we're going on a bear hunt except we're going to pop a cap in the bears ass.

Thanks Steven, you've sold me on this one. Daughter was on the phone last night and, amongst lots of other family stuff, told me she has one of this make for her iphone and is very pleased with it. She did question the price it's showing on Amazon saying she paid much less for hers a year or so ago. Do you know if the Amazon price is good or might I get it cheaper elsewhere?

Thanks for recommending it to me, I'll definitely be getting one.

with a soft foam dart that will likely just bounce off and be more of an environmental hazard than a hazard that causes injury or death.

Well if we do find a Yeti..I agree it's more likely it'll choke to death on the dart than be injured by it.

Although I'm no expert on Yeti Physiology.

There's probably cheaper elsewhere definitely but it's that thing of has somewhere got it cheaper at the moment you need it within reasonable delivery times.

Also Pixels are significantly rarer than iPhones so accessories that are phone model specific can be harder to find and more expensive. There's probably 200 iPhones for every pixel out there so stock isn't as plentiful and guaranteed to fly off the shelves.

If you went into a phone shop you might find one or 2 pixel cases for all models, among several hundred for Samsung's or iPhones.

Usually, at the very bottom of amazons listing, it will show cheaper ones from other sellers but, as Steve says, it maybe the cheapest on there
For as little as £1 difference too the real lowest-price for the same thing items might actually be coming on a 3 week ship from China too.. versus UK stock (even if they claim it's from the UK). If you're in no rush save, but if you are and they lie report it and Amazon will usually refund you and let you keep it anyway. Made that mistake before on things I presumed would be as stated in terms of ship location / delivery time only to be waiting for weeks. Wish I'd spent a pound or two more.

The other thing is if you were to buy the same case from Google (it's an official option not aftermarket) it's over 30 quid. Buying it direct from the manufacturer via Amazon is 10 quid cheaper.

As ever there's cheaper options although in the past with phone accessories I tended to find the cheapest to be a bit crap. Not necessarily going to go out and spend 50 quid on a case (it's definitely possible) but lower end stuff can be poorly fitting and not protect well.

If you get a screen protector again I'd recommend avoiding anything very cheap and going with something like the Spigen ones. As again they are decent quality and fit which is not always guaranteed..

Thank you. I tend to gravitate to ebay so that's useful to know - come to think of it my daughter buys stuff from Amazon and has some sort of "fancy" account with them, Maybe I should mention it to her.

I see the Amazon page shows screen protectors at the bottom - 2 for £9.99. So the case with 2 screen protectors is £29.98. Not a lot in the great order of things for a quality product I suppose.
