What's made you smile today?

It's made me grumpy and smoke at the same time so thought I'd post it here.

At work we've been running interviews for a new Senior Team Leader position and as I'm the temporary assistant manager I had to run this mornings interviews.

So before the interviews I decided to do some cleaning in the pub and was wearing rubbishes clothes.. one bloke walked into the pub and sat down, so asked if I could help, his response was "your only the cleaner, how can you help" so I decided to keep cleaning and make him wait. 5 minutes later I ask if there is anyone I can get for him. To which he replies, "the assistant manager if you must"

So I walk off, get quickly washed and changed into my work stuff and put name tag on. Walk back in and he looks so shocked that it was me.

Safely to say that because of his attitute he won't be getting the job.

Sounds like your typical team leader though. Maybe he should get the job.

This made me smile

Dear Paul.

Many thanks for your application which I read with interest.

Unfortunately the placement position now looks to have been filled. However, we will possibly be offering an additional placement position in the coming months. So if you would like to be considered for this then please let me know, and if the position arises I will certainly contact you again to arrange an interview.

Also, if you would like to be considered for a permanent position then I would be pleased to receive an application prior to you graduating in your final year.

Thanks again for your interest and I wish you success in the future.

Best Regards

It isn't a yes but its a reply and a very nice one at that so made me smile :)

My smile. - Productive day in the engine labs:D
Although i miss read the assignment sheet - get the engine to idle at 1800-2600 rpm. i had 1200 in my mind for the lower limit:confused: -luckily the time it took me to see this, was the time needed to warm the engine up:p so it looked more professional to the technition :p

Had my meeting with Spoons. They explained to me that me having two jobs was an issue for them, I explained that they were the ones making it an issue and they should have said this four months ago rather than leave it 'til now. I also said that them not giving me any shifts this week and physically removing me from the rota led me to believe I was sacked, and that it's caused a lot of inconvenience as I wont be getting any wages this week. Dropped their arses, hah.

Got an interview for BT tomorrow, so fingers crossed the interviewer likes my crack (not that crack) and hires me. Might just get loaded up on Monster before I go. :yum:
