The thing that caught my eye..adult occupancy rating 83%...tested under the same regime the C3 scores 88% and got 4 stars.
So not actually as safe..but bongs if you attempt to change lane with someone in your blind spot or if you try and crash at the car in front.

These ratings are getting a wee bit "silly". I don't really bother about them, much more interested in the engineering in the car and how easy it's going to be to repair and maintain - has to drive well too.
I can understand why a total rating should apply where a car actually actively avoids the crash and NCAP themselves have said the safest car is the one that doesn’t have a crash in the first place, but people don’t look to NCAP to ask, which car am I least likely to have a crash in, they want to know “if I have a crash which car will protect me and my family best” so maybe the rating needs to be split between safest presence on the road and safest in an accident, the weight should be on occupant safety, then those outside the car, then the gadgets and gizmos lastGotta love an Ncap result so 5 stars for the new leccy MG.. impressive.

They don't measure stopping distances or avoidance manoeuvres eg elk test etc though...just what happens if you don't manage it. Be interesting to see an 1700kg electric car on eco tyres do the elk test, it won't roll but hard tyres and lots of weight do not like to change direction (accepting a Tesla on pilot sports is a different thing but your average electric minibus..hmm). So not really a true measurement of the safety systems a car has.
I get it but the amount of whinging on various groups I'm on about safety systems going hay wire with low sun, muck covered sensors and foggy windscreens suggests they don't really add a huge amount in a lot of conditions.
Oxford City Council had road sweepers out, doing their normal thing of keeping the roads clean. Seems good, except, Oxfordshire County Council had the gritters out. Guess which one was in front.

Clearly unsafe..... 1 star... Although to me it seems to have acceptable rollover protection. There numerous example I have of Pandas actually doing at least OK after quite nasty looking accidents. I actually do not want all these gadgets as they will all be MOT failures if they dont work. so I agree with you.

Ebay message yesterday from supplier in reply to my query as to where my roll of insulation is. Told me a tracking check can't find it so item presumed lost. Would I like another dispatched or my money back? Decided to give then a second try so now waiting again!
Probably safer to get money back, a few weeks ago from two different book suppliers on eBay, I ordered the same book at separate times both claimed they had it in stock, one even saying it had been dispatched, both said their "warehouse had run out ", so to me they both kept no stock and just shop around to get a cheap deal then sell on to the the buyer, you or me to make a profit and probably get the stockist to post to us direct, hence making a profit from something they have never owned with no outlay and little comeback. Maybe they were Estate Agents in a previous life

No local builders merchants near you? Here I am lucky with builders living near by, and local RGB which is a good local supplier, often way more competitive than online when I needed supplies like that. There is plenty more I should do around my home , but motivation seems to be lacking these days.
There are several but the bit the building control chap is "worried" about involves some complicated cavities around soil pipe vents and the loft hatch. Not a simple "just roll it out" application. Going back to this..
Just got back from walking my boy to school.
Saw a lady in a Tesla model Y a car that scores 98% in safety assist tech have her arse saved from her own stupidity by a bloke in an old insignia which would score a hefty 0 stars on the current system. Fortunately managed to place his foot on the brake when she pulled out from an offset blind t-junction without looking right then on seeing the car bearing down on her froze and stopped her car directly in it's path.
Sure she would have been fine..but the phrase whenever you idiot proof something society produces a better class of idiot comes to mind.
Glad to say it all worked out fine. The replacement order arrived yesterday lunchtime so I'll be going out to their house tomorrow to finish off doing the insulation and taking a picture of it to forward to the building control chappie. I also now have all but one of the certificates needed - gas, electricity, fire alarms, plumbing, etc - so I'm going to forward all those at the same time as he is happy for me to scan them and send them electronically - never done that before but my printer can scan so I presume I just save it as a file on my laptop and then attach it to the email? I've never tried to save something I've scanned before either so lots to learn for me.No local builders merchants near you? There should be an option to save as a pdf file. May be able to create a multi-page pdf, so you just scan each in turn, and it saves as one file.
Well, delivery company up to no good again...
Having told the supplier that the item had not arrived, after a number of messages back and forth (and photos of video doorbell and CCTV camera which showed no visit at the claimed delivery time) they magically delivered the package that they had "already delivered" more than a week earlier. The supplier did NOT send out a replacement, so it's a bit hard to explain... (unless they were not being entirely truthful).
