I agree entirely, going to back to my original point packs of runners the odd one of which may decide not to wear reflective clothing are precisely why I would not dip my beams for pedestrians. By being nice to the 1st one I may miss someone else just up the road who I otherwise may have seen. I'd rather **** the odd person off than kill them.
I do not run on roads, I do not cycle on roads even in daylight, (You may remember I own and use a downhill bike) where I live surrounded by narrow roads with high hedges for me I feel it requires more trust in other road users than I have. Other people in my area think it is acceptable to walk in the dark on a national speed limit road, in fog, wearing black but that is their look out, and I shall do everything in my power to avoid them.
