****ing car insurance company!!

Had a wee crash last October, and was told by the inusurance company and the repair centre that the excess was £250. Ok, no problem - have a seperate policy to cover excess upto £400.

Roll on 7 months...and I get a letter stating that I still owe £200 "young drivers excess". Apparently, the accident repair centre are chasing my insurance company for the payment, who in turn are now chasing me.

Quick check of my policy documents, and it appears to be an oversight by all 3-parties.

Well, £200 is a big chunk of change to fork out in one go, so I called them up. I made some very reasonable offers for payment (add on to repayments or even half on my next 2 paydays). No! The useless guy I spoke to said that they can only accept a cheque...I don't have a cheque book - and nor does anyone else I know have one. "Oh. Err...we can take a BACS payment" but no installements!

So, I rang the accident repair company - lucky for me, the woman I spoke to is the credit controller for Quotemehappy.com.

She wasn't sure if she could help me, but would have a word with QMH on my behalf.

Just finished on the phone with a chap who sounded incredibly confused - who's going to contact me before close of business today. We shall see...

I'm not unwilling to pay, and I am offering to pay it all before the policy ends. I don't think that's unreasonable! And nor did my previous insurance company when I had to make changes to my policy. Bastards!
 
The worlds local bank..... again :(

They have stopped my credit card due to suspicious activity..... which is down to their own systems not recognising my postcode (n) I've used the card a few times lately in shops and things no problems, tried to use it online but it failed the visa checks.... I couldn't work out why, but hey ho I thought, ran through the reset security thingy.... then today tried to use the card over the phone and it failed....

Basically anything that requires my postcode for auth fails and gets flagged... I hit the threshold bugger. Simple phone call I thought to get the correct postcode on my account (again) but noooo stupid women on the phone couldn't understand how their system didn't have my postcode and she can't update it to the correct postcode because it doesn't exist on her computer! Therefore all the previous transactions that were declined must have been the fraudulent use...... when I explained every single one of them she was even more confused.... so they are now sending a new card to the wrong address...... Trip to the branch tomorrow to speak with someone who understands English me thinks :bang:
 
What does this woman mean she's the credit controller :confused: You're lucky they're not holding your car to ransom ;)

Tbh it was an oversight on your part also.

She's the one who liases with QMH when it comes to claims.

I know it was part oversight on my part (hence the comment about all 3 parties - me, QMH & Rationwide Accident Repair)

The that's pissed me off the most is the lack of flexibility they're showing and their abyssmal attitude on the phone

I'm so glad I'm an Advance customer. Get local northern people answering like Rusz :D
 
Decorating my newly plastered out house blanking off the water feed to the washing machine to fit some cabinets on the wall and the solder joint in the ceiling braking off while im cutting it further down managed to pull enough through to get a nut and olive to blank it but theres a small wet patch where it comes through hope its not another solder joint and just residual water :(
