What's made you grumpy today?

My grump today (these seem to never end:p)
Having to seek help with uni work:cry:

Hoping to go from a 'fail' to a '2:1'
(My best yet - 'Fail' to '1st' :D - always something simple...)

My grump, my car is either gonna cost £50 to fix or £700 depending on the ECU or not. Either way im going to get rid and get a new punto before i find out how many more problems this car has yet to spring on me.

Well rang up the mechanic today and he said its either one thing (cant remember what though now) or its possibly the ECU which is causing the major electrical fault. But im thinking my car should have been written off at some point and they have just not gone through insurance and fixed it up best they can because ive had a few problems with this car in the past year that ive owned it. So if they say ECU im gonna either break it or sell it spares or repair but i think either way im gonna get a different car because god knows what will go wrong next with it. Anyone want a crapped out sporting? :bang:

did they even check the earths before saying it the ECU causing the electrical problems?

3 weeks to determine an ECU problem  something sounds a bit odd
Well it originally went in for a service and MOT and to find out what was causing it to misfire and not start sometimes. He got it started and it overheated majorly so replaced the thermostat and the fan switch and that sorted that but when the fan kicked in the windows go up and down, the indicators come on and the rear wiper goes off on one. so they chased the short and realised that the underneath of the fusebox was basically smashed to bits aswell. Now it wont start at all and they think its the ECU or some other thing which costs £50 2nd hand.. either way, i hate my car right now.

all sounds like an earth problem to me but if the garage is a good garage then id go with them
Yeah hes a trusted mechanic and he wouldnt screw me over because hes my mums boss's son lol so god knows what to do tbh. Gonna ring up tomorrow and see whats happening and if its ecu then bye bye car (n)

but ecu repair is only about £100 plus P&P and 4 bolts to remove it

Not much of a grump but:

Ive had a busy 4 days,i had an interview on fri with a company i used to work for 2 year ago, this morning i got a phone call to go see the big boss for a 2nd interview (the company has now been taken over by a bigger company),.30 mins later i got offered the job

BUT on a month trial rather than 13 weeks, due to me being there before and knowing the round (same round i had) ,which is fair enough i suppose. When i rang up enquiring they was looking for a driver but hadnt advertised it so bit lucky really i rang up on the off chance.

Also got my car fixed yesterday...£115 lighter (n) so today after my interview i took it back to the garage to be handed a new 12 month ticket

AND i won £1 on a scratchcard, shame it didnt have 4 0's after it lol

so,I get home from work
go round to the lock up and the locks jammed
walk back to the house and grab some tools and decide to combine it with a test of the pushbike(been servicing it)
bikes working perfectly, gears are smooth as silk :D
get to the lock up
lube the lock and work the key back and forth till it turns
no it didnt, the key snapped
so i faff around and in the end lever the door open
its got padlocks that will do for now
cycle home and go to put the bike up on the hanging rack
knock over a lamp and break it
then notice i have picked up a small nail in each tyre :bang:
so the perfect working bike has 2 flat tyres and i need it fro Friday ot get to work and i cant find my tubeless repair kit

i feel for you that is one unlucky day :(

Our project is coming in Late and over budget so we've had to have a re-think...(n) Head hurts but i came up with a good solution! But it's still a HUGE pain to try and make... as my new modified design for our Uni project will require a flywheel...:bang:

The other option would mean building our own gearbox(n) not got enough time for this(n) and it would take us to 250% of our budget.

The new idea will take us to around 120% of our budget and might make it in on time(y)
