Slow Ebay payers .
27 hours after selling some tat , 2 buyers are still to pay , both of them owe no more than £12 each ,I don't sell much and not for big £££ but every little helps .
I also have a buying habit that needs to stop , I might just abandon and leave the selling platform altogether .
I'm not moving to Facebook market place ,just full of loons wanting stuff delivered for free .
I have just 4 items still for sale ,will let them run out of relists and then just stop . :(:(:(:( 4 frowns is a lot of frown .

I just had a seller cancel a item I had just won when they realised they had underestimated the postage and wanted to nearly double my bid.
It wasn't a big item just a car manual, surely if someone has been selling for some years logic would tell them to weigh and clarify postage costs before listing.

Royal Mail put their prices up on the 3rd of this month , I didn't bother changing the post costs on my listings as the rises aren't a huge amount so I just suck up the small extra to pay . Every time an Ebay subject is discussed ,people come up with stuff about both bad buyers and sellers scamming and ripping people off and I've had enough of the stress for little return .
My 2 buyers still not paid by the way , 37 hours and counting .

I tend to agree with you, I stopped selling when eBay started leaning to much in favour of dodgy buyers, also a lot of the stuff I was selling was heavier second hand machinery where half pallets at least were required. Anyway retired now so it is just what I want to play with for myself.:)

27 hours is barely a day, I usually leave it 3 or 4 days before hassling them. Personally I dont use paypal or any banking app away from home, so if I'm working away, then they have to wait if the auction ends at the wrong time.

What I dont like is the £12 fee from ebay to step in on a dispute, makes it hardly worth it.

I used to sell, then stopped because nothing went for a reasonable price, realising it cost just as much to get packing and postage sorted. I stopped for a few years, then started listing again in december. New rules since they've dropped paypal, and I was reset to a complete newbie even though I'd been with them over 20 years buying and selling. Anything sold had fund held for 4 to 8 weeks until I was viewed as trustworthy again.

Thanks for this I was unaware of this. I always use paypal on eBay. Do you know if they have done the same thing. I know I could go look it up, but if you know its easier for an poor old man!

Ordered tyres for Daffo for fitting today and paid up front on ASDA tyres. Orer confirmed and appointment confirmed. The price was good.
First thing this morning a call to say they cannot deliver on fitting today and will do it next week.... Im afaraid thats the last time I order tyres on line and I have cancelled the order, only to be told they cant refund for 6 days. I say don't promise what tou cant deliver! Surely they could have sorted an alternative to my chosen fitter???

I have now organised tyres for the same day with someone lese who are actually my preferred palce as they have the full m onty of suspension alignment kit. I shall take my camber adjusting bolts along so it can be brought into line if required.

My advice to ASDA is stick to selling carrots and stop meddling in stuff you dont's actually understand!

I’ve had that happen with black circles before, turned out it was the garage claiming the tires hadn’t been delivered, I never got the full story there but seemed there was some scam going on at the garage, the staff when I went were really aggressive, blamed it all on black circles and told me it was there fault because black circles are “sh;t” complained to head office and it later it turned out the tires were there they they had just “not seen them” didn’t explain it excuse the behaviour, and as they were a set of very expensive Michelins that would fit a host of VAG cars I think the staff were trying to pinch them or some other scam where they’d sell them to someone else and get cheaper tires in for me.
I got a full refund on that occasion as well, later got my local garage to source and fit a full set of Bridgestones which were OEM for the car

I used Black circles yesterday...as needed the tyre before bank holiday duties so willing to pay the extra 12 quid to not be stuck to 55mph on the outsize wheel or running round with a bit of wood hanging out of the original tyre. My usual online supplier that I can get staff discount on couldn't get the right tyre until next Tuesday.

The first thing they did was check they physically had the tyre in as apparently they are pretty bad for actually delivering them to the right place on time (although in this case I've used them before for other things so "know" the garage).

Whether or not that was the case in your case...perhaps they turned up after you did or not who knows. I understand there's much less margin in the online sales for the garage not that it excuses the behaviour at all.

Garage I used did a good job, followed instructions given. (I'm trying to square the tyres up as much as possible so it now has 2 5mm tyres on the rear, a 6 on the drivers side front and the new 8 front left, front left takes an absolute beating on this car with rounderbouts and always seems to spin that one as well...so hopefully they'll all wear out about the same). Nothing is backwards, (directional tyres), nothing was damaged, everything ended up in the right place although did get them to balance them up so they weren't touching wheels they'd not been paid for.

Fast fit places are very hit and miss...and even worse when the stuff is coming via a third party with a fixed profit margin.

Yes you are right. I have now opted to go to the best place I know locally and get the better service. and have an appointment booked for Thursday. I will check the tyre daily and pull the car off the road if it does wear to the cords. Really annoying as 80% of the tread had 5mm left. 10 months ago it was all checked and the only issue was rear camber on one side being off. I shall have a full check done and then if required change some bits. I want to fit new anti roll bar bushes so that will get done too. With tyres at pushing £85 it has to be sorted properly. I was tempted by Goodyear Vector all seasons at £74 but they are uni directional and I dont want that on this car.

To be fair the Goodyear's are why the garage ended up with a very specific set of instructions...

However they are at least reasonably cheap and usually available short notice though in this case the two things didn't quite align.

Bank holiday weekend. Gets in the way of parts deliveries.

On another note, I guess there were a lot of very grumpy people trying to head towards South Wales today. I had to go across to Bristol, and joined the queue 100 yards from the M32 slip road, so luckily only a short queue for me. All three lanes were almost stationary.
Left there 5pm, luckily heading East. Westbound queue, all three lanes, was back half-way between Bath and Chippenham. I did keep waving, to try to cheer them up.

Yeah...we did our long distance plans earlier in the week. Even then it was pretty busy on the A1, I have no plans to do any great distance today or Monday.

Not so bad for "freeform" days out where you're just kinda picking something and going and can change plans if the traffic on the way to your original choice is bad.

Next month I have contrived to be travelling to the lakes on the King Charles coronation...not looking forward to that much. Hoping if I go via Hexham and Haydon Bridge and over Hartside pass it'll be not so grim. Though you always seem to find either 20 motorbikes of the midlife crisis/soon to be organ donor variety or class C motorhome.

Back to work today after Easter break.

"This figure has randomly changed from X to Y can you check please?"

"It's still X on this"

"I'm not using that it's showing as Y on this"

"I've checked that system and it's also showing X...except for a rounding difference of 0.01"

"Can I have a copy of your figures please?"

Particularly annoying in that I'd left space ahead and behind so people could leave which they did.

Whoever replaced them did not....

Terrible time was had by all...look at his little face so mortified at the prospect of sitting in the car eating cookies.
He does look upset at the prospect, when mine were young and each had a bag of chips or something, after finishing my own they knew I would "tax" theirs ;).

Reminds me of when I lived in Weymouth, opposite a small Toyota dealer. With limited space on-site, most of their staff parked along the road. The workshop foreman (Triumph 2000) and car valeter (Lada 1200), both had a habit of parking either side of my car, and with metal bumpers, would move gently to touch, then move away an inch or so. At least once a week I'd have to go in and ask them to move one of them, so we could go to work.
But then I bought another car, and for a couple of weeks, had both, while stuff like radio, and complete front suspension were swapped over. So one Wednesday morning, I watched their foreman park his Triumph in front of the old car. I popped out, and moved the 'new' car in front of his, an inch away, like he was to my other car. He was now sandwiched, like Steven's Citroen.
We used the motorbike for work for three days, while the foreman used the company van. He knew where I lived, but was probably too embarrassed to ask. He also had no idea who the other car belonged to.
They never blocked me in again.
