you are allowed to increase your speed above the speed limit to aid blue light vehicles, but only until a suitable safe place to allow them to pass.!!
my FIAT has made me grumpy. the time it took to remove both rear sidelight bulbs, i could have walked down to garage and bought all the bulbs for mrs mazda and changed them all!!
two bolts each side and then four screws WTF. why not put a panel in like every other manufacturer, for ease of access. stupid bloody car.
apart from that we're still friends

Where have you heard that? Can't find anything in the highway code, or road traffic act that supports what you've said.
It's just made up help them feel better "knowing" that they are not going to be fined for speeding
