Only in some states but I'm not sure which ones apart from Queensland. They're such a big pest that about 100 years ago they hand built a 2000 mile long pest fence around Western Australia to keep rabbits out.
Well I know of people who had rabbits as pets in WA so they can't be illegal there.

The problems with erosion that they cause in Australia are massive.
Now-a-days the erosion is being blamed on mountain goats and wild horses up in the mountainous areas.

Never killed a rabbit in my life though they do get around in light bush areas, rather brave of them too a lot of poisonous snakes happen to share the same habitats...

Well we didn't make that as far as I know, we just neglect to cure it because they're considered a pest.

i couldn't find the scoop thing for washing powder so used a mug, then i forgot and thought the mug on the side was the one i been using for coffee, so i poured another coffee into it an drank it, didn't realize till i got crunchy bits in my mouth

Don;t be unhappy about it, in this country, if it is a pest, it gets shot...rabbits, Kangaroo (rather nice tastingthey call that lamping over here
) feral cats and dogs, even camel. Useless fact for you...Australia has the largest population of wild camels in the world.
