ok..had the clutch and gearbox replaced a while ago, since then, the speedo and milometer has also stopped.
the thing is, it didnt just stop all at once, its stopped reading until it reached 30mph, then read from speeds above. then it stopped reading from 70mph and now its stopped working...
i took it to the ppl that fixed the gearbox and clutch and they said its was the electrics and i needed to get a chip for it as its stopped working....

anyone ever heard of anything like this..????

also, the read screen wiper has just completly stopped...do i need to get a new motor for this? or is there any other way?

not really an answer to your question but i think there is a rear wiper motor on ebay @ the mo

I sympathise with your problem regarding your speedo. Imagine this: my speedo went bust (over a period of one week and in same way as yours) after just one month that I purchased my Bravo. It's got nothing to do with your gearbox or clutch. Our speedos are mechanical and are very fragile especially on rough roads. You simply just have to change the whole set. I cant tell you the cost of a new one as I had mine changed under warranty.
Look at the bright side of it. You will get your mileage counter reset to nil and you can boast that you have a brand new, mileage-less car again!!!

Prolly the gearbox sensor. What year is yours? Early ones are cable speedo but that would not fail in the way you describe.

so the car will be reset to 0...thats quite bad...
i wanted to sell it...dont think the new owner will believe it...
iv got a 1.2...if that means anything....
anyone know the cost of this?

Wiper

For the wiper problem, you can try cleaning the contacts. I had to on mine as I'd get a clicking noise when i turned the rear wiper on but it wouldnt move.
I cleaned the contacts and has been working fine ever since (year or so ago).

My speedo was playing up earlier this year. After a few trips to Fiat I had my whole cluster unit replaced. From memory I think you're looking at around £400(inc) to replace it. Dodgy Italian electrics I'm affraid...
