What the hell is clicking in my boot?

Occasionally I hear a random clicking noise, like a relay, with no particular pattern, coming from my boot.

It's there every time I've just switched on the ignition, though at other points too, if I don't have music on I can hear it. I don't know what it could be. Everything works fine back there, wiper, etc, so it's not actually a problem, but it's bugging me as to what it is making the clicking.

Any Ideas?

Rear washer motor badly eartherd and trying to switch itself on?

It's a common way that they burn out as the Factory do not lubricate the spline and shaft (no pun intended) when thety are fitted.

I've just fitted a rear motor wiper and it clicks every time it wipes. It's quite a loud click. Is there anything i can do to stop it? And will it nacker the motor?

YOU say the wiper is working but is it parking?
mine started to click before it give up
is the wiper slow to move across the window?

No it seems to be working fine. Not slow at all. Only fitted it yesterday. It was a second hand one though.

When you put wiper moter back did the bolts go through washers and rubber spacers or bolt to the metal

They went through the rubber spacers with a washer after them.

That's the fuel pump..

So is that normal then? The fuel pump that is, not the castanet player! Not a sign of anything on the way out?

The do lube it, just after a few years of not being used the grease goes sticky.

I also get clicking from the back of my 1.4 brava, i think it is usally the wiper that causes it, in my case the wiper died and there was no clicking but after i cleaned the wiper and got it working again the clicking returned!

I've had that clicking in all my Bravo's when you turn on the ignition, and I'm assuming that it's the fuel pump as there really isn't any other explanation for it.

Ironically, my HGT used to make d a repeated loud clicking from somewhere behing the glovebox area, intermittently, so it must be one of those "Fiatisms".

You get it happening during driving?
