its happened a few times recently tho - it clear again after a few hours tho....

Had water that colour in Wales once. Perfectly safe apparently, never had any ill effects on us during our week there. Drank and bathed in it without issue.

We had that on and off for a good few years, ours had grit in aswell, like sand. Lots of people complained to the water company in our area since it was happening so often, it tasted like muddy water does. I just assumed it was dirt getting in during roadworks.

Also its another reason why I will never put tap water in my cars radiator.

This tends to happen if any works are being carried out on the water main. Changes in pressure drag up sediment from the bottom of the pipes and it gets carried along by the water. If this is the case, it will settle out again, and there's not much you can do til then.

Give your water authority a call and tell them the problem. They may even have a notice about it on their website.

well i think there was a water leak in near to me - where the fire brigade was called out - alot of water on a road which then froze that night....

Well im assuming that - 1mile away
And i checked where they were - no signs of a fire
but lots of water around....

i see our water the same way i see my luck... in varying shades of grey... only with the water its more.. brown. :/

its so bad, we have had to put a filter on the incoming water to our combi boiler
