What preparation does the bodywork need...

...before sticking on new Fiat Badges. Should the paintwork be stripped of polish etc. I've got no idea about this sort of thing and it looks like it should be so simple. With my luck the badge will slip as I put it on OR there will be so much poilish that it will never stick. Help...

just use good double sided tape i.e; number plate pads.

Thanks for that...but the badge already has a paper-backed adhesive. I imagined that I would just peel back the paper and stick it on. Do you think I should clean off the polish residue on the paint?
