Anyone know the fasted times ever got out of an HGT? I had a big argument with a friend, I reckon no one can get one of those HGTs under 7's in a 0-60 sprint.

I read somewhere that 8.2 secs (2 secs slower than that other beast of a car the Fiat Uno Turbo i.e. in it's heyday), was the fastest 0-60 time from standstill for an unmodified HGT? As a HGT owner I am inclined to believe that figure from past experience:D At 7 secs the car would need a pretty meaty beast I think to get it up to those figures. I do believe there is a guy on here somewhere who actually dropped a different engine lump in his motor but can't for the life of me remember what figures he produced from that conversion?

I bet that novitec one flew, standard hgt's do a 0-60 in about 7.8-8 secs.

punto HGT, god they drink, and considering they are not in teh hottest state of tune the milage is terrible (tried one out and got 22mpg according to the computer, and I wasn't driving it hard).

to get one down under 7sec would be possible, but a 6second FWD car is not easy to get around.

Yea, they never made a hot punto, the closest was the GT mark I.

It dose'nt look like they ever will make a quick punto judging by the grande punto. Uno turbo Ftw(y)

Uno Turbo was a legend. Anyone who disputes it should drive one. Makes driving the normal average puntos feel like driving the Nostromo from Alien.

did Fiat never do a turbocharged version of the HGT?

was it the hottest punto they did? (luke warm :p )

They did a Turbo Diesel version (JTDm HGT) which was 130bhp out the factory but can be remapped to 160-170bhp.

And whats with all this talk about 0-60 times its ****** and is no way a decent method to measure a cars performance other than the pub talk factor.

That's not a real turbo car ;)

Have you never played traffic light grand prix?

Once or twice but I prefer it when some burk in a BMW style car goes to over take and can't :D. The look on the numpty's face is usually priceless .

Ive drove a few HGT's and I must say I feel like there lacking go for what you expect :(. Doens't feel much quicker than my 1.4 16v Sporting.

I second that last comment! Although the Uno Turbo ie is still a legend in it's own right and I believe only killed off by a second by the French Beast of that era the Mk2 Renault 5 GT Turbo(7 secs standard 5 chipped). Puegout 205 GTi was a contender but from I remember in my old college days you were either for the Uno, Renault or Peugout camp,VW Golf's or Escort Cosworth.
Of course I was rootin for the Uno Turbo camp every time:cool:
