I phoned westover fiat - they need to have it in to look at it, will take up to an hour, to determine whether fixable and whether under warranty. Will go armed with my FF information just incase they say it's not covered! Can't go til 22nd jan so will be soaking cyclists until then.......

Crazy - of course it's covered by the warranty. It is a rubbish piece of design that to my knowledge has been around since 2002 and always fails in the same way. I cannot understand why Fiat has not changed the design. Surely would save them money in warranty work, unless it's something the dealers do not charge Fiat for.

yes and usually to women. Any trouble and I'll call Grimmy to come and sort them out, apparently he works round the corner!

Oh why don't you just wear a corset and start wrapping your feet and have done with it? LOL Actually if I could engage someone like Tony to do all my garage liaison for me I would be very pleased! But why they are being funny about replacing a faulty bit I dunno. Nowt as queer as folk (and fiat dealers).

[irony mode on]

Huff....you used the term queer.....hufff.... I find that quite offensive.....hufff....reported.;)

queer  [kweer] adjective, -er, -est, verb, noun
–adjective
1. strange or odd from a conventional viewpoint; unusually different; singular: a queer notion of justice.
2. of a questionable nature or character; suspicious; shady: Something queer about the language of the prospectus kept investors away.
3. not feeling physically right or well; giddy, faint, or qualmish: to feel queer.

This is what I meant Mark! Sorry to cause offence! Ya big puff :ROFLMAO:

Had the drivers one fall right out today on my Ka. I'm now 'on the waiting list'. Apparently they're replacing them in pairs so both will be changed.

The mehanic I was speaking to said his fell off and has been waiting since Xmas for the parts to come so god knows how long I'll be waiting.

Would it be worth going to a Fiat garage?

I've just got off the phone to Ford. I wasn't happy at the prospect of having to wait nearly a month for the part to be delivered.

They've filed a case number for me so it'll all get sorted through Ford directly. They said my dealer shouldn't have told me he had been waiting since Xmas for the part. I said well they can only fix the car as quickly as you send the part out!

I'll post on here the outcome and if the design is any different. Makes me think it might be a re-designed part if they're going to be changing both of the washers, or maybe that's just wishful thinking lol. It would be good news for you 500 owners if they did re-design it! :)

They replaced both on my 500, but the design LOOKS the same.

Hi - the washer nozzle problem happened to our 500C even before the cold weather! What a lousy design - the little cylinders seem to have no resistance to any water pressure, and pop out at the first squirt!

Hmm, from what I know of Grimmy I can see what's going to happen there, you call him & he'll turn up trousers down, all excited, thinking you said "come and sort ME out"

As I have a seafront balcony I thought I could stand out there first thing in the morning with my cuppa, starkers. Give the OAPS on the sefront a heart attack!!!!!!

It takes one to know one, lol. I guess we'll need adjoining balconies at the Sandringham this year so we can compare notes.

Wishful thinking :)
