seats are in great condition

quite narrow so will fit in taht aspect

they are very low though, in the mx5 they bolt to the floor directly, which in a panda would mean looking at the steering wheel instead of the screen. will keep an eye on them and if they stay cheap then will probably bid. would definatly need work fitting them though.

missed out on seats, went for to much

removed the stupid badges n the paint is now buggered a bit, will need some work. gave the car a wash as well for the first time also, come up nice.

notticed a bad noise though, when clutch is up in neutral at idle i can hear a scraping sound sort of, hard to explain but it sounds like a bearing is shot. muct be clutch/box related as it's only happening when clutch is engaged.

tried to fit the new lenses for the rear, one of them is wrong, must be a mark one because it doesnt wrap arround the side of the car, so old one back on and another one to be sourced

If the noise is only when your foot is on the clutch then yes probably the thrust bearing, but I think you mean the noise is with your foot off the clutch, in which case I would suspect the first motion shaft bearing.

noise is only apparent when clutch is engaged in neutral.

big problem if it is the bearing on the first motion shaft?

Not really, gearboxes will rumble on for ages with noisy bearings so there's no need to rush to fix it. I've never had one of these boxes apart so I can't comment on ease of replacement, but I wouldn't think it will be too difficult.

Collected my Panda Tacchini 2 weeks ago (Autotrader buy) and so far
he (Giovani) has had:
A quick check over & clean (all seems OK.. i think)
Changed the engine Oil & Filter.
Replaced the headlamp bulbs with Halogen versions.
Fitted new radio/cd and speakers.
Fitted handbrake handle soft grip cover.
Adjusted handbrake.
Adjusted clutch pedal height.
Lubed all gearchange linkages.
Removed rear floor cover & rear seat to clean up and treat floor pan &
seat base then refitted with extra sound proof layer.
Ordered 4 x new 165/65R13 tyres.
Collecting a set a Cinq alloy rims today..... yipee !!!

All good stuff, sounds like you know what makes a Panda smile :).

Now is your your noise with your foot on or off the clutch?

Well dad's managed to get into mums bad books.

He only managed to reverse is mint Selecta into our newly build £500 wall (christ the wall moved), and has cause a fair amount of damage to the wall (even though its still standing, just), but luckily only scuffed the corner of the rear bumper on his Selecta, so it could have been worse (even thought mum didn't see it that way ).

So ultimatly one scuff later. Panda 1 - Wall 0 :p

Let's hope that there is no replay on this one mate...!

blame the builders for the wall being weak, use the "its only a little unpowered panda, your walls are obv crap! imaginine if it had been a landy!"

:ROFLMAO:

I took my front bumper off today in an attempt to get it to fit better and sort out the side mounts as they were abit loose after the small knock I had last week.

I put it back on and it was much better, then I tightened up the bolts and its exactly the same:( I think the front mounts must be bent slightly. Oh well at least its not as loose now.

Horn had stopped working aswell so I gave it a whack while the bumper was off, works great now:p

Well im not so sure it is the release bearing.. its only noisey when cold on initial start up and then it seems to go, there is some noise when you depress the clutch but its nothing bad.
Wondering if it could be the alternator bearing ??
Will let it develop and see how it goes.

Anyone here know about longer wheel bolts when fitted Cinq alloy rims ?
Why are the standard bolts not long enough?

Thanks
Paul
