All I would assume is;

S = Sport
SX = Sport Extra?

'Standard' perhaps. S trim is the most basic and worst looking of all.

HLX/HGT you could vaguely argue were sporty.

ELX=Extra Hi Lux
HGT= Hi Grand Tourer
JTD=Just Turbo Diesel
i might be wrong on the elx/hgt
