I am looking to buy a 115 hlx. its a 99 but doesnt have the code for the key or radio. are they easy to locate and how much does fiat charge?

The code for the ECU should be on file at the dealers who originally sold the car, as for the radio I have no clue.

Easy option is to buy a new radio, the stock one sucks ass anyway.
You only need the ECU code if both the blue keys and the red key fail.

I thought you need the code if you change the battery? Yeh will DEFINITELY change the standard hu and speakers, I can't bear poor quality sound!

that info is free from the original garage as long as you can supply a copy of your v5 (or whatever they've changed it to this month) and proof of ID i.e. driving license.

apparently the remote central locking doesn't work either, however the central locking still works from the key. The guy selling it said that he haed part one? fixed but never got round to part two of the fix as he doesnt use the car much. The led still flashes. any idea on the cost of this to repair it? he reckoned about £2-300 is it a diy job or does it have to be done by a mechanic? Thanks a lot for all your help. This site has got to be the best site I have ever come across! Keep up all the good work lads

I had a HLX that started to do this... never stoped working though! i wouldnt thought it would be that expensive BUT dont hold me to it! as for part 1 and part 2, i have never heard anything like that!!!!!
I wouldnt worry about the radio! just fit an after market one as they are all loads better then the fiat one!
