I'm currently on 17"s myself and realy like the ride. But this also comes down to the tires you mount and the weight of the wheel.

I got reaky lucky and bought 4 brand new Tec ASA 2 wheels for 150 euro. The only catch was that I had to put up with the color
I fitted 4 Continental Premium Contact 6 tires that cost me 488 inc fitment and balancing.
This is my car. The wheels drive awesome!

Yep, that make them exclusive on other Panda's then the Cross.
Paid deposit on my 5th Panda this shape. 2nd TA 4x4. Definitely model to have as far as I'm concerned. Tempted as I've been to buy a new 4x4 since 2014 managed to talk myself out of it. First one was 30 months old. This one 23. Collect tomorrow. Think it's a PCP handback. Depreciation and mileage fine not been my problem. And has done above average miles so always got warm.

Have spent the last few days sorely missing my Cross, which I reckon would be absolutely brilliant on the gravel roads, sand dunes and (after the almost-daily downpour) muddy swamps which proliferate where I'm currently holidaying. The little Polo hire car copes OK with the gravel, but just isn't up to the other stuff. Gutless little beast, too. No shove whatsoever until you hit 3k revs, which makes progress glacially slow when my wife's driving (a diesel-driver, she habitually changes up just as the power kicks in )
