New shiney tires and rims for my Panda

Picked up my wheels this morning after I've had them fitted with some new Continental Premium Contact 6's.
First I will give them a good rub with some Mequiers Gold Clasd Carnuba wax and then it's time to fit them.

Looking forward of seeing them fitted.

They sure do!
I've waxed and fitted the wheels and can already tell you they ride nicer then the O.Z.'s and they are also about 500 grams per wheel lighter. Also the tyre feels way more comfortabel(wasn't expecting that at all).
Later in the evening I will post pictures.
And I will already have a couple of hundres km's on them.

Yeah I had to be in The Haque today so I fitted them early this morning and then left for the city. 275km and I'm realy pleased.
The suspension feels much better with these wheels so the lighter weight must clearly make a lot of difference. They feel very planted and comfortable and grip was akready realy good on the way back this evening even if it was only 9 degrees outside.
When I took of the O.Z.'s I fiund the slightest rub marks (more in the dirt then anything else) on the inside rear wheel wells on both sides.

Finaly some pics. First waxed all wheels and left them sit for the wax to cure.
Then it was time for some wrenching.

Yep, told that a few time already about less weighing wheels and the difference it makes.
Had the same rubbing problem at the rear with the 225/40R16 tires on, by my blue Panda the rubbing wear right thru the plastic wheel arch covers.
The 7Jx17" ET 31 Bravo's with 205/40R17" tire need much less space on the inside.

Re: New shiney tires and rims for my Panda

Btw, will you still planning Bilstein B6 shocks. ??

Still think a Panda could be lower then what we have now with the Novitec springs.

No not realy but it's good to know that there are now some good replacement options. If the rear shocks do wear out I probably go with some B8's because I don't need to be any lower or stiffer then the car is now.
