What dash should I have?

Hey chaps and ladies...

Just wondering what type of dash I should have in a 2.4jtd weekend marea?

I ask because, yes, I have high mileage on the car, but when looking around at the mk2 jtd's (i.e. the 1.9jtd) they seem to have the circle dials, and my dash looks to be screwed in on the pi*s.

It is a W reg 2000 model 2.4jtd and has the halfmoon dials.

can anyone confirm this as the correct ones for the car?

thanks
Darren

my 1999 2.4JTD has the half moon clocks.

not sure which you should have though.

Cheers bulldog, I'm sure you replied to this when I posted on FF.

I'm not sure if it is a hlx thing to warn you if the doors are open, but it seems someone has definatley had the dash of before...

I believe it to be correct. I've seen two 2.4 JTD mareas with the same half moon clocks. Similar to that of a 1.4.

cheers for the replys guys,

Just wondered if the dash had been changed and more miles put on the clock than it had actually done, kinda hoping really ;)

but someone has had it off before, and there is a hole in my steering wheel, where a screwdriver has been inserted and a tracking device put in the fuse box (not tracking but if a crash happens it can be read), think it was used as a company car for a while.

Bravo's always had the round clocks, (because they were more 'sporty' according to FIAT at the time)

Mk.1 Bravas/Mareas had the dodgy half-moon clocks - they all changed to round ones on the Mk.2's except for the automatic models for some reason...

Google or youtube Marea 2.4 JTD and they are all half moon types.

Think ya could be right on that 1,ive got the hlaf moon 160 clocks in mine and like ya say,if doors are open it lets you know, also if you have a bulb out it shows you were etc and mine came from a 20v petrol :)

Mk.1 Bravas/Mareas had the dodgy half-moon clocks

Dodgy?! I think they look alot better than the circle ones, look more sporty i think :)

yeah, perhaps its a hlx thing...

still, wouldn't mind putting a dash in with lower miles ;)

yeah, thats the prob, bought it with no recipts or anything.
but now I have mot's and cambelt changes at 144k, haha

oh well, she still pulls well now she has done 148k!

I got my info from my Marea's handbook, old 1990's Brava/o road tests and FIAT press releases.

Of course my 2001 20v ELX has the round clocks but also has a red door/boot open warning light -though it's in a different style to the one on the earlier 'dodgy' :) half moon types.

I say dodgy as the 1999 Mk1 1.8 ELX Brava a mate once owned had the early half-moon ones and it looked a mess with all the pointless coloured lines surrounding the numbers and so was'nt the easiest to read quickly - looked like it was designed for a bad old Renault

There be a marea in that car! ;)

I think I got the same dials, but only to 140 I believe, it is diesel after all!

IMO the half moon dials are way cooler than the circular ones of the Bravo.

however, the 2.4JTD does have some dodgy looking ones, they only read to 140 and look too spaced out.

the 20v on the other hand loom amazing :D

That Marea steering wheels looks a little big in your car Mick, have you thought about changing it?

Ry

thats what I found...

Going from 2x HGT's to a Marea I foudn the wheel to be massive!

But it does have steering wheel controls :)
