Hi all
Current (no pun intended) has truly givin up the ghost. No amount of maintenance etc will keep it charged. Any recommendations on battery type and size. Currently it’s a 12V 45a 300a

Can find a 300 locally so any thoughts?

Thanks

Check this thread, I went for the biggest I could fit, type 057

I am sure that other Forum members will come up with other alternatives, but I have an "Exide Excel 159" battery in my car. The dimensions are:---Length 227mm, width 127mm and height 225mm. An alternative (and at only about £50, cheaper) is the "Yuasa YBX3057". This is very slightly longer at 238mm and slightly wider at 129mm, but at 223mm, slightly lower. The main thing to remember is that when looking at the battery, the terminals are at the BACK and the positive terminal is on the RIGHT. Just make sure that the positive lead is insulated from the battery 'hold-bar' (which runs very close.

Ah, very good point. Thank you. Never considered that. Very useful info and an easy one to get wrong. Thank you
