General What are the gearboxes like?

I've been looking at new cars and it looks like my choice will be between a Hyundai i10 and a Fiat 500.

The revised Picanto and i10 are supposed to be getting a 99g/KM 1 litre engine based on the 1.2 litre Kappa very soon.

65mpg, oodles of extras and long warrantys make them a very serious alternative to an overpriced 500. Much as I like the look of the 500, FIAT are really pulling the **** with their pricing of this 3 door Panda.

Yes, Fiat is very greedy over the 500. It prices it this way because it can, and because it is a good car.

As for economy: don't forget that in a few weeks the 500 gets the 85hp twin, with 95gm/km and 0-60 in eleven seconds.
More economical than the forthcoming Picanto, and much faster. And much better, and much costlier of course

If you can find the money it has to be the one to have.
Next year Fiat will franchise the Multiair technology and Ford and GM will get it too. As for the Twinair, it looks like Ford will be using this in the Ka too.

I hope Fiat charges them a LOT of money per unit to borrow this tech!

so perhaps you could secure some shafts, linkages and mounts from one of those on the black market!

No surprise to some of you, but my left drive shaft sounds like it's on it's way out at the moment so maybe i would be better off with the parts mentioned above! (and my warranty won't cover it due to the tuning box....ah well )
