Wet sanding lights

My headlights are pretty scratched and im wanting them back to their original shinyness, il get pictures up tomorrow of the damage, it looks like the previous owner has literally parked in a thorn bush several times. And i was wondering how do you wet sand them? What grade sand paper do i need and what else would i need?

if your goign to do this, id first find out if the headlights have a laminated layer on the outside (some do)...then id go at it with 1500, then 2000 grit, then megs plasticx should bring back the shine...did this on a mates A3

imo you will need a polisher to be able to get them back to very shiney,use the wet and dry first and then use the polisher to get the shine back
