After 9 weeks, I went to collect my new little baby and there it was with the wrong interior colour. I ordered a Bossa Nova White 1.2 Lounge with balck and white check interior with black detail. Instead it was with cream detail. Don't get me wrong it looks great and I was really stuck with which colour way to go with, but husband is not happy. Don't want to wait another 9 weeks for another car. Who do I need to raise a complaint to - direct to the garage or to fiat cust services and ha anyone els ehad a prob like this and how was it resolved???

The taste police in the factory have decreed your black ambience in a white car to be beyond the boundaries of good taste.... you have a better interior now but jump about and complain to dealer manager, get some compensation or at least a couple of free services and drive away happy in the knowledge that someone at Fiat has more taste:):)

dealer hasnt kept to the contracted order....I had same as leather suite...not same I know but insist on compensation....speak to dealer principal and say you are extremely disappointed that no-one realised the mistake....go for £500 off and make out that you really did not want the ivory ;)

If the taste police attempt anything like that will my car there'll be hell to pay! :p

Well 306maxi isn't really into the whole retro thing so he would choose black. Just not open to the experience.
Let's not take someone elses thread off topic ;)

Anyhoo my dad has a mod blue sort of coloured 500f with a red vinyl interior and white ambience which is probably a lot more to your liking Notts :p If my mum doesn't pester him into selling it I'm sure he'll leave it to me. When the wife and myself went back to Australia she saw it and really really likes the idea of it. Crazy woman! I'd much rather have a modern one but that's just me being a philistine ;)

I resent the implication I would EVER be off topic, all my posts are always rock-hard bang on, pertinent, cogent and well reasoned.

Your Dad's 500f sounds great... but I would say that as I'm getting to the age where things from the past seem far, far superior to modern stuff. If I had any kind of mechanical knowledge I would have a classic 500 as a project. But I don't.

OT warning!

I think you could get away with not having a huge amount of mechanical knowledge and restoring a 500. Most of the work on it was specialist stuff like getting the seats retrimmed, getting the body sandblasted and of course painting it. The mechanical bits on a 500 aren't hugely difficult to deal with and it wouldn't be too expensive to get someone else to do it. You can buy just about anything for the 500 by mail order or over the internet so if you have the cash and the inclination then why not do it! :) My dad got things like repro lights, trim, the exterior, chrome rubber mats and loads of other stuff mail order from Germany and it's as if it was new.

I'm gonna do it! OOH YEAH! I'm so psyched!

I know, Let's hold the show right here in the barn! :D

Thanks for the encouragment, I'll convince Mrs Notts! Quite fancy a Giardiniera actually! :D

eugh no dont stick with the cream - you should complain as it is not what you ordered

Don't just go along with it, you've had to wait 9 weeks and got something you didnt want - I'd rather wait another 9 weeks and get the one I do want. Actually, if you complain strongly enough you shouldn't have to wait another 9 weeks they surely can correct their error and deliver to you much sooner!

Go for it (y)

Delivery is down to build time ;)

If it needs to be 're-built' per say, that wait will be the wait. Only thing dealer can speed up is processing time when it gets to the dealership.

I see what you are saying but I bet you anything you kick up a fuss n you'll be surprised at how quick they can help you out

They might go as far as seeing if there is another to your spec somewhere else in the counrty, but would have thought thats about all they can do

Exactly, it's amazing what companies can do if they think they might lose your custom.

What's the worst that can happen - you'll have to wait 9 weeks, I dont think that is long if you end up with what you want for your £8/9k :D
