:confused:hi my punto 04 starts first time but if its damp wont pull seems to take about 10 mins to settle down then it drives fine allday

Starting then rough running till it warms up is a sign that the spark plugs and or HT leads are starting to break down allowing moisture in affecting there performance

It like your in need of a simple Spark plug change and HT change
Both totally DIY'able

make sure you get the right plugs and quality leads
8 valve plugs should be about £15
leads about £20
do one at a time so you dont get firing order wrong
its easier to remove throttle cable connecter to do plug underneath as otherwise its real easy to crosstheread the new plug in
seen it and done it so be warned
also make sure breather pipe to airbox is on tight as this causes missyfirings on cold days when injun cold
 
Would I be right in thinking this will be the exact same engine as the one used in a 2006 Panda? Although not had these issues (yet!)


yep the engine is, but don't know off the ecu as that's the main problam (n) which I believes different worth checking. Fault on the puntos, makes them costly as if you don't it kills the fault you can blow the ecu

worth checking as the engines the same in a punto and panda and the block was origanlly in a cinq and you can still get the same block today with a VVT system like Hondas VTEC :cool:

engine NOT same be warned
punto mk2 is non interferance engine
panda smashes valves if belt goes
its possible the run out later punto where air filter hose points to right as you stand in front of car is an interference engine too but im not sure on this one but believe its a valve smasher
