Technical Water pump

Would the water pump on a punto make a screaming noise if it was broken as at high revs the car screams at me. I have changed the drive belt and its not that.

Yeah it can do, how old is your car?

It could simply be a pully tensioner

Yeah it could make a screaming noise, is there no sign of water leaking under the engine, that could give it away? Or it could be what shauny said a tensioner seized.
